UP meat sellers meet CM Adityanath; strike may end soon

Lucknow: Meat sellers and exporters in Uttar Pradesh may end their indefinite strike as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday assured them that the legal slaughter houses will not be troubled.

Representative to the meat exporters Sirajuddin Qureshi, after meeting with the CM, said, “Our meeting with UP CM was very successful. He assured us that licensed slaughterhouses will not be troubled.”

He also appealed the meat exporters to end the strike and start working in a legal manner. He said, “I appeal to the protesters to return to work and start working with a proper licence,UP Govt will help you procure one.”

Meat traders all across Uttar Pradesh went on an indefinite strike on Monday against the state government crackdown on the slaughter houses, resulting in closing down of scores of them.

It may be mentioned that traders earlier had held talks with state health minister Siddhartha Nath Singh but there was no positive outcome.
