Karnataka CM goes Akhilesh’s way, learning no lesson from his debacle
Bengaluru: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaih does not seem to have taken any lesson from his counterpart in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, as taking out a leaf from his recent document he too has offered several sops to voters about a year before the assembly polls despite debacle faced by the latter.
Not attaching much significance to the recent Uttar Pradesh assembly election results, he too, like Akhilesh, promised to provide electronic gadget to as many as 1.5 lakh young men and women who will fulfill the criteria fixed by the government.
Taking a cue from Akhilesh, the Karnataka government will introduce a new scheme for the safety of women. Metro projects are his dream projects like the young UP chief minister’s who is on his way out and waiting for the decision to be taken out by the BJP.
Akhilesh will remain in the saddle as long as the BJP does not find a successor. It was expected to finalise the chief minister’s name by Thursday evening( this evening) but it has been deferred.
Another common factor: like his UP counterpart, he has announced freebies for. school-going girls. Besides shoes and socks they will be provided dresses.
Sid who has taken the reins from the Bharatiya Janata Party which suffered defeat in the previous assembly polls held four years ago seems to be also enamoured by late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha..
In tune with Amma he has promised, in his budget presented on Wednesday ,to provide cheap breakfast and meals at special canteens set up by the government.
Named Namma, these outlets will provide breakfast at Rs five and meals at double the cost.
To be fair to him, the southern state is different from Uttar Pradesh in many ways. The socio-economic situation is much different in this part of the country. So is the literacy rate. Therefore, there may not be an action replay in this state.
