UP Polls: Highest ever polling in Lucknow; 3rd phase %age above from 2012

Lucknow: Over 61.16 per Cent voter turnout was recorded in the third phase polling of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 on Sunday. The polling for 69 constituencies spread across 12 districts majorly went off peacefully, barring a few incidents of clashes.

Incidentally, the state capital Lucknow observed highest ever average polling percentage (58.50 per cent) exceeding its previous record of 57.90 per cent in 2012.

The polling began at 7 in the morning and ended at 5 in the evening.

The highest voting percentage was recorded at Mahmoodabad constituency (72.40) in Sitapur district, while Kanpur Cantt. remained lowest at 50.43 per cent.

This time, the district wise polling percentage was slightly higher as compared to the 2012 Assembly elections (60.74 per cent).
