In order to make your wine selection easy, we have added some recommendations for the most refreshing and “après friendly” wines to enjoy from our wine list.
Champagne Ruinart “R” de Ruinart Brut NV, France
Few would argue that any day that ends with Champagne is a good day. We love the Ruinart Champagne for its classic appeal – rich and toasty yet elegant and bright. This is a great glass to enjoy on its own or with light, subtle flavoured canapes.
Domaine Laporte “Les Duchesses” Pouilly Fumé 2014, France
This incredibly refreshing wine will quench your thirst with its snappy acidity and flavours of citrus oils, green apple, dried herbs and minerals. Grown in the famous Pouilly Fumé region of the Loire Valley and made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, its crisp and lively character is the perfect post-ski refresher. Although this wine is lovely on its own, it will also match up with seafood canapes or anything with goat’s cheese.
Jermann Pinot Grigio 2013, Italy
This is no ordinary Pinot Grigio; Silvio Jermann has a reputation for making some of Italy‘s best white wines. This one is concentrated with flavours of citrus, vanilla, toasted nuts and orchard fruit. If you want a white wine but prefer something with a little more body – this is the one for you. Enjoy it with flavoured cheeses and charcuterie.
Louis Jadot Domaine De Poncereau Fleurie 2011, France
After a long day of skiing our guests crave a thirst quenching beverage so heavy or soupy red wines are not popular. This Fleurie will do the trick with its light and bright appeal. Despite the lighter body, there is still plenty of concentration packed into this wine with flavours of tangy red berries, kirsch and white pepper. Enjoy this wine with charcuterie or flavourful cheeses.
Christoph Edelbauer Pinot Noir 2012, Austria
Taste some of the local flavours with this beauty from a tiny producer in Langenlois! With only 1500 bottles of this wine made, you are in for a real treat. Easy-sipping and supple, this refreshing red is packed with flavours of ripe raspberry, strawberry, spice and wild herbs. Enjoy it on its own or with prosciutto wrapped asparagus or canapes with an element of grilled or smoked meat.
