Liverpool FC Captain is well known for his love of the game of Golf. As he’s now retired from international football he took full advantage of the recent international break by escaping to play golf in Portugal.
The Invitation from European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley
Steven and a number of his friends were invited by Paul Mcginley to play at the brand new Quinta do Lago North course. McGinley was the joint Architect behind this new version of the popular Portuguese course.
About the new Quinta do Lago North Course
The new Quinta do Lago North course joins the South and Laranjal courses as the 3rd championship course of Quinta do Lago. The course was designed jointly between American Architect Beau Welling with inspiration from Ryder cup Captain Paul Mcginley.
The previous North course has been closed since November 2013. The new 6,776 yards par 72 has had a total overhaul including rebuilds to bunkers, cart paths, drainage systems, greens, irrigation and tees.
