Peacock Bass Fishing Picks Up as Water Levels Drop on Upper Rio Negro

October, 2013

Our first group of fishermen of the 13-14 fishing season were on the Upper Rio Negro, last week. Water was still a little high but dropping. A number of teeners were caught with an 18 lb'er being the big fish of the week. The Peacock Bass are actively spawning and brightly colored. As the water levels continue to drop, the peacock bass fishing should improve. These trips are on the Rio Negro River in Brazil. Your home base while you are there is a 125' luxury yacht which allows you to move to new waters in the evening.
