With three bank holiday weekends to look forward to between now and September, why not ditch those unfinished DIY projects and instead take advantage of the time off with a Weekend away? Three days is plenty of time to relax or explore a new Destination, and here are some of our favourites to get you inspired.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is a fantastic Long Weekend destination, because you can explore the entire city in just a few hours. By day Amsterdam is best explored by foot or bike, so you can enjoy the tranquil canals and picturesque bridges. Barcelona

With seven beaches, stunning architecture, warm weather and a relaxed atmosphere, Barcelona really does offer something for everyone. Spend your days exploring the mix of colourful and Gothic buildings, eating tapas or unwinding on a sunny beach, then in the evenings head for one of Barcelona’s many Michelin-starred restaurants for a culinary feast.

Budapest

Budapest has grown in popularity over recent years, and for good reason – it is a cosmopolitan city break destination filled with charm and beauty. Not only is Budapest filled with galleries, museums, cobbled streets, beautiful churches and ancient ruins, it is also Perfect for anyone looking for a spa break with a difference. Enjoy turn of the century baths and hot springs, which were enjoyed by the Romans and Ottomans.

Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is the perfect weekend destination for anyone looking to escape the rat race and relax on a sun drenched beach – whether you’re travelling with friends, kids or your partner. By day, pick your spot on one of the amazing stretches of beach – if you get bored you can enjoy water sports or walk up to the lovely Marina. By night, indulge in Spanish food, wine and entertainment.

Dubai

Although a little further from home, Dubai is the perfect destination for any sun worshipper looking for a taste of luxury and relaxation. Make sure you visit the world’s tallest skyscraper and take in the amazing views, go to the waterfront galleries and enjoy one of the many cafes in the old Bastakia Quarter.

Dublin

Not only is the landscape of Iceland absolutely stunning, but you could also take a trip to the amazing Blue Lagoon, do some husky sledging, take part in a Golden Circle tour and go in search of the fabulous Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights show. Getting to Iceland is really affordable, but once you get there things like food can be expensive – making it the perfect short break destination.

Prague

Prague has developed an unfair reputation in the last few years as the ultimate ‘lad break’ and ‘Stag Do’ destination, however, Prague has so much more to offer than amazing Czech beers from across Bohemia. It is also one of Europe’s most picturesque cities, with an Old Town which feels almost magical – make sure you visit the Charles Bridge to take in the amazing views.

Rome

If you’re looking for a real taste of history then Rome is the destination for you. In just three days you can visit so many amazing sites, including the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, The Keats-Shelley House, the Trevi Fountain, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon and the smallest country in the world; Vatican City. After a long days exploring, make sure you relax in the evening with some delicious Italian food and wine.

Venice

Venice is an enchanting destination filled with stunning architecture, mysterious passageways and romantic canals. It is actually a floating city, built on over 100 tiny islands in a lagoon, which not only means that cars and roads are replaced with boats and canals, but that there are hundreds of alleys and squares just waiting to be explored. Make sure you take a moonlit gondola ride, get lost at least once and watch the world go by in Piazza San Marco.
