This wordpress site actually began as a Travel diary for one of my trips to Sicily back in 2009, and that is what you are reading in my previous posts. While I will still be sharing my travel stories, I will also be including logistics information and tips I have learned that may help you with your own travel.
Tomorrow, I am off to Sicily for a few months and will have tons of new experiences and information to share! Please subscribe to my blog or follow me on twitter ( @larosasiciliana ) for updates.
And without further ado, I turn this post over to a place I have known to come and love, a place that took some time to grow on me and the place I will be flying into from Rome on Tuesday evening… Palermo.
What’s Cool About Palermo?
It’s a mixture of history, beauty, ugliness, chaos and wonderfully good looking men! Eye candy is in full abundance here, however, their underwear judgment puzzles me…
1. Men’s Underwear. I really get a kick out of the men’s designs (actually, this applies to all of Italy I have visited)
2. Multicultural Street Signs
3. Designs in architecture that may be hidden to the average eye, another lesson in ‘looking up’
4. Enlightening Graffiti
5. Construction signs. “Shoveling Sh*t” is what I like to call this one.
When I first saw this sign I couldn’t help but laugh. It reminded me of my life back in New Jersey, “shoveling sh*t”… at the job, with other people, etc. It fit the tone perfectly and reminded me why I was on vacation in the first place…
Ah, this is going to be a great trip!
