What do you think makes Costa Rica such a special place for a vacation?

There are so many reasons to visit.  It’s a combination of wildlife, weather, tropical warm ocean, cool breezes and friendly, down to earth Ticos.

What are the must do’s for families on vacation here in Manuel Antonio?

Definitely the canopy zipline tour, hiking through our local Manuel Antonio National Park (many new trails just opened!), white water rafting for the very adventurous as well as relaxing at our beautiful beach.

What is your favorite tour/activity to recommend?

Definitely the white water rafting.  It’s an off the beaten track adventure tour that rates highly with our guests.  It gives you the feeling of “I can do it” plus you get to see amazing scenery all along the way.

Where are the best places to relax with good food and drinks?

There are lots of great restaurants in Manuel Antonio!  You’ll definitely want to check out our local sodas (typical Costa Rican restaurants) along with Barba Roja, Runaway Grill at the Marina and El Ranchito at Villas Nicolas – a small poolside hidden gem (that is coincidentally my husband’s restaurant).

What is the most family friendly restaurant?

Almost all of our local restaurants are family friendly with a few exceptions at adult-only hotels.  Costa Rica embraces children, they are beloved always.

Best place for a couple’s romantic dinner?

Definitely La Luna Restaurant off of the principal road.

Where is the best place to have fun and enjoy the nightlife?

This changes every year.  New hotspot for 2015 for the younger set is Zion Bar in Manuel Antonio.

Any favorite shops that people should check out in Manuel Antonio/Quepos for authentic souvenirs?

Arte Indio, La Tombola, Jungle Ave has a great collection of local artisan made products.

For those who want to take a day trip outside of Manuel Antonio, where should they go to really experience Costa Rica and/or different scenery?

When do you think is the best time to stay at Manuel Antonio Vacation Rentals and why?

Different people enjoy different parts of the year.  I love September and October when there is hardly anyone else here.  High season from January-April  guarantees nearly cloudless skies every day, but I enjoy a few clouds and rain, so the green season is for me, and many of our guests.
