Where there’s Plenty of Food, Drink, Fun –  Things to Do in Celebration Florida!

Whether you live in or near Orlando, or you’re planning to visit for vacation, you owe it to yourself to schedule a day or evening to spend in Celebration, Florida! 

Celebration is conveniently located right on the I-4 corridor near Kissimmee and the theme parks. It’s easy to navigate there and well worth the time.

The planned community, which was designed and built by Disney in the late 90’s, delivers a friendly atmosphere, and its abundance of food, drink, and entertainment choices are second to none.

Since we love to give a “shout out” to places we’ve been and thoroughly enjoyed, we highly recommend planning a dining experience at Columbia Restaurant located on 649 Front Street. According to their website, Columbia is part of the Gonzmart family of restaurants. These are said to be the oldest restaurant in Florida dating all the way back to 1905 when they opened their first establishment in Tampa’s Ybor City.

If you’ve been doing something that long, you’re bound to be good at it. And good they are! We found their abundant menu to be a delightful mix of Spanish and Cuban fare. In one word, it was mouthwatering!  

Before you get started eating however, make sure to have a pitcher of Sangria prepared right at your table. Trust us on this one. You’ll be glad you did!  Or perhaps you may want to try one of their famous Mojitos or even a Florida craft beer from the bar.

A couple of signature items on their menu … the Spanish Bean Soup “that made the Columbia famous” and Columbia’s Original “1905” Salad ® which gave the restaurant the distinction of being named “one of the 10 Great Places to Make a Meal out of a Salad” by USA Today. From personal experience, the “Original Cuban Sandwich”  isn’t bad either!        

Wine Bar Galore!

Another great culinary destination in Celebration is Imperium Food and Wine located on 606 Market Street. The staff at Imperium are experts at pairing a nice glass of wine with something great to eat.

In addition to wine choices from around the globe, their menu features an impressive array of appetizers, salads, flatbreads, sandwiches, and wraps. A fun thing to do for starters is to get a Cheese Plate, which features a daily cheese selection, combined with fruit, nuts, and crackers and enjoy it with your first glass of wine. It’s a great way to snack and visit for all around the table.

When you’re ready to move on to the main course (with a second glass of wine of course!), there’s a plethora of options to choose from including a Buddha’s Chicken salad which features sweet chili pulled chicken, greens, peppers, onions, mandarin oranges, chow mien noodles, and honey ginger dressing.

Their sandwiches, flatbreads and wraps are served up with smoked salmon, blackened, herb, and jerk chicken, shrimp, beef, ham, turkey, and even barbeque. There are also plenty of vegetarian options. This is certainly a “can’t miss” destination for things to do in Celebration Florida!

Art and Wine Stroll!

Be sure to plan a visit on one of the three weekends a year that Celebration’s Town Center becomes a walking, wine sipping, art festival! The “celebration” features the work from many of the town’s local artists including paintings, sketches, watercolors, ceramics, and much more!

Neighborhood Farmer’s Market

Fresh food rules at the Celebration Farmer’s Market held on Market Street every Sunday morning during the summer. So bring your basket and enjoy it all as you shop for fresh fruits, veggies, and even baked goods! This is one of our favorite things to do in Celebration Florida.

Fourth of July

As you start to consider where to spend this year’s mid-summer national holiday, look no further than Main Street Celebration. Celebrations’ July 4th event features lots of activities for the kids, food, music, and an incredible fireworks display to cap off the day!
