Online congregation the 2019 Black Music Honors are headed to Atlanta, and this year Gospel music superstar Yolanda Adams is being honored with the Gospel Music Icon Award. The 2019 Black Music Honors television show will be taking place on Thursday, September 5th in a new location, The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta Georgia. The award show is set to have its favorite hosts: Rickey Smiley and LeToya Luckett return for another year.
According to the CR8 Agency, the show honors “artists and musicians who have influenced and made significant contributions to American music.” There are quite a few honorees this year including Xscape, who will receive the Urban Music Icon Award for “platinum-selling quartet group’s 25 years in the industry.” Another Icon that will be awarded is Yolanda Adams. She will receive the Gospel Music Icon Award. Other artists such as Arrested Development and Freddie Jackson, will also be honored at this event.
