Our next question is, who Created the universe?
The first person of the Trinity, the Father, is the ultimate authority and all decisions come from Him.
In the beginning was the Word [the Son], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. He was in the world and the world was made by Him, yet the world did not know Him. John 1:1-3, 10
He [the Son] is the image of the invisible God [the Father], the first born of all creation; for by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or principalities or authorities—all things were created by Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15 (That means He created the angels, too).
We see then that according to the Bible, the Word, the Son, God the Second Person of the Trinity, created everything there is in the universe, visible and invisible.
Yes and no. All believers accept that it is part of God’s infinite nature that He can do anything He wants. If He wants to create matter out of nothing, I assume it is His prerogative. Yet, if I believe that, I am back to my original complaint of cosmic magic. Rather, I believe there is something much more powerful behind the creation of the material universe.

Our next question is, who Created the universe?
The Bible teaches there is one God who consists of three persons known as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19, Titus 3:4-6, I Peter 1:2, Jude 20-21
The first person of the Trinity, the Father, is the ultimate authority and all decisions come from Him.
The second person, the Son, carries out the Father’s will. He took human form and entered the world as Jesus. It must be understood, however, that the Second Person of the Trinity cannot be referred to as Jesus until His incarnation. That name was not given Him until He became flesh.
The third person is the Holy Spirit; the active agent doing the work the Son is directed to do by the Father. Psalm 104:30 says "When you send out your Spirit, they [living creatures] are created."
Who, then, created the world? The Father gave the command that it b e done but the Son was the Creator. It was He who planned the universe and who designed all life on t his planet. Not only that, it was the Second Person of the Trinity, the Son, who planted the garden of Eden, who spoke with Adam, who made a contract with Abraham, who commissioned Moses, giving him the Ten Commandments. It is the Son who was Yahweh (Jehovah) of the Old Testament.
Most Christians (and others) have believed it was the Father who did all these things and can hardly accept it when told otherwise. Here is what the Bible says:

Of what did He create the universe? Theologians say He created it out of nothing.
Yes and no. All believers accept that it is part of God’s infinite nature that He can do anything He wants. If He wants to create matter out of nothing, I assume it is His prerogative. Yet, if I believe that, I am back to my original complaint of cosmic magic. Rather, I believe there is something much more powerful behind the creation of the material universe.
In the early part of this century, Einstein proposed his famous formula: E=mc2. Though it is famous, hardly anyone, other than scientists has inquired into what it means. Indeed, to the average person it is incomprehensible; but we can understand the surface aspects of it fairly easily. The formula simply states that there is a relationship between matter and energy: that they are interchangeable. Matter can be converted into energy and, theoretically, energy can be converted into matter. This has far reaching implications.
The first practical application of this formula was in the construction of the atomic bomb. When the bomb explodes, a small amount of the mass of the radioactive material used is converted into energy and ceases to exist as matter. The energy released is tremendous enough to destroy a city. Atomic bombs are rather inefficient, however, since only a fraction of the few pounds of plutonium or uranium making up the core of the bomb is converted to energy. The rest becomes radioactive fallout and other by-products.
Most are unaware that light and heat of the sun is also the result of a controlled atomic reaction in which matter is converted to energy: a giant atomic furnace.
Now, if you find this overly technical do not give up, even if you don’t understand all of it. There are some surprising facts ahead which tie the scientific physics and God’s power together.
Now, the formula states: E [energy in ergs] equals mass [in grams] time the speed of light [in meters per second] squared. (On earth, mass is essentially the same as weight. Ergs are a measure of energy).
Since the speed of light is 300 million meters per second, this figure squared is an exceedingly large number: 90 quadrillions. If we are dealing with just one gram of matter (which is roughly, only one-thirtieth of an ounce) then one gram of matter completely converted into energy would produce 90 quadrillion ergs which is around 2,500 kilowatt hours. A small household with a refrigerator and a few electric appliances averages about 10 KWH per day. So, one gram of any kind of matter, be it paper, stone, metal, water, garbage, or even air, if totally converted to energy would provide enough power to run a household for eight months. An ounce of matter would keep it running almost 20 years!
A small automobile could travel around 5.000 miles on a gram, or 140,000 miles on an ounce. One could buy a car from a factory with a sealed-in fuel supply of a couple of ounces, which would be enough to last the life of the vehicle. No more gas stations!!
When one considers that the sun is converting tons of matter every day into energy which radiates into space as light, heat, and electromagnetic radiations: and that the sun is only a medium sized star among billions in the universe—that adds up to a lot of energy. One might well ask what is the origin of all this energy? One might further ask what is the origin of all the incalculable amounts of matter in the universe?
I am convinced God created the visible,
physical universe out of energy:

One might say there are no grounds for such an assertion; that it is pure conjecture. But no: I have based it on scripture. In reading the following verses, which brought me to this conclusion, bear in mind that light is one of the forms of energy. (Other forms of energy are: heat, electrical, mechanical, nuclear, and chemical).
God is light! I John 1:5
… The blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. I Timothy 6:15-16
Moses said, "I pray you, show me your glory." But the Lord said, " You cannot see my face; for man shall not see me and live. Look, there is a place by me where you will stand upon the rock; and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by; then I will take away my hand, and you may see my back; but my face shall not be seen [because the radiance of it would kill you]". Exodus 33:18-23
The city [New Jerusalem] has no need of sun or moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23
There will be no more night, nor will they need the light of either lamp or sun, because the Lord God Himself will be their light. Revelation 22:5
Oh Lord, my God, you are very great!! You are clothed with honor and majesty, and you cover yourself with light as with a garment. Psalm 104:1-2
God reveals deep and mysterious things: he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. Daniel 2:22
So we see that the light energy radiating from God is so great it is unapproachable—greater than the sun. God is surrounded by an enormous energy field and has access to incalculable amounts of it.
Is there any other indication that the material universe was created from energy? Yes.
By faith we understand the world was created by the command of God, so that the things which are seen [the material] were made out of that which is not seen [the non-material, or in other words, energy]. Hebrews 11:3
The above verse does not say the visible was made out of nothing but, rather, out of the nonmaterial which is energy.
God’s power goes far beyond what we have imagined. God has access to inexhaustible sources of energy from which, I am convinced, He created the world. And, we are told in II Peter 3:10, 12 at the end of the world all will revert back to energy.
The day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, and then, the heavens will pass away with an explosion, and the elements will be dissolved [come apart] with fire, and the earth and the works that are on it will be totally burned up… the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the elements will melt in the consuming fire.
Indeed, that is exactly what happens in a nuclear explosion where matter is converted to energy.
