-Duke U. Kicks Christian Group Off Campus

Found this on Facebook. Another Christian Student group kicked off a university campus because they believe in following the Bible when it comes to sexuality and leadership.

Response: Christian Student Groups continue to be challenged by new and expanded anti-discrimination and ‘inclusive’ rules on college and university campuses all across the country. In most cases Christian groups are being kicked off campus because their group rules require leaders to actually be Christian believers who adhere to Biblical moral standards.

I really can’t improve on what Rev. Franklin Graham has to say in the Duke University case. Here’s a link to an article we wrote on similar action taken last year against Christian student groups at Harvard U. and Wayne State university.

The following clause in Young Life’s policy is the one that the Duke student government objected to:

“We do not in any way wish to exclude persons who engage in sexual misconduct or who practice a homosexual lifestyle from being recipients of ministry of God’s grace and mercy as expressed in Jesus Christ. We do, however, believe that such persons are not to serve as staff or volunteers in the mission and work of Young Life.”
