Human Longings - Daily-Message

Human Longings
“And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.” (Luke 24:2)
Easter is over and what can you save in your everyday life, in the office, on the assembly line....? Why do we actually celebrate feasts? To relax, to be with family, to have time for ourselves, to worship, to rejoice, to give gifts to friends...? Many different answers! Many celebrate because this life has indestructible meaning to them. Can one do something, with such a view on life, in one's every day life? Particularly in hard times, when one more often speaks of the futility of life rather than its indestructibility.

For me, life only has an indestructible meaning when one, despite all the hurt and suffering, remains indestructible, when one passes through all the unfulfilled moments, coming to a final fulfilment.

Research the happy experiences in your life. During fulfilled, happy situations in my life, I always felt a great longing: That this happiness could remain and grow deeper, although I knew that my life was running its course to death. This is how I felt whenever I was at the Night Air show on the beach at Norderney and watched the dragons, illuminated with LED lamps, soaring in the sky.

Life only has an indestructible meaning, when it remains indestructible after death. As a Christian, we have this belief: Life is more powerful than death, because I can believe in Jesus. In Jesus, God has fulfilled the human desire to life after death.

Because Christians believe it, we celebrate Easter: Jesus, who was crucified, who lives eternally. [mehr]
