Why complicate it when it can also be simple? - Daily-Message

Why complicate it when it can also be simple?
“and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” (Daniel 9:27b)
Have you ever tried to read the Bible from beginning to end? Most people give up at Numbers or Deuteronomy. The beginning of the Bible is interesting and exciting, however after the first few books it becomes more difficult and lengthy when we get to the entire mosaic laws and generational registers.

Did you read the above Bible scripture? And did you understand it? We have just started the Book of Daniel in our home cell and have not progressed with this scripture. There are many things in the Bible which we have read multiple times and still don't comprehend.

The problem is that some, at this point, don't just cast the Bible aside, but simultaneously their entire faith. It is too difficult for me, too complicated – it is nothing for me...

Certainly, the Bible challenges us at many points, however this may also be its purpose, so that we will always dig deeper and discover something new. But, the most important, that upon which all rests, is always clear-cut.

Also the Letters of Paul are, at some points, written in such a manner that it takes our entire lives and then still haven't quite understood everything. However, the actual Gospel, the Good Message of God to us, we find in one clear-cut sentence in John:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

It is not a matter of understanding every single word in the Bible, we also don't have to memorize each and every scripture, it is simply a matter of trusting and believing as a little child! Jesus died for my sin. He took them from me, upon Himself and paid the penalty for them. I simply have to acknowledge this and believe that I have been saved – and then it is so!

It certainly cannot harm us to also discern the difficult points in the Bible, but we should only do this when we fully comprehend the Gospel and have the assurance that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38).

I don't know how mature your faith is. However, don't take on more of the Bible than what you are able to understand. The most important is that you know that God loves you and everything added are useful accessories!

And so I wish you a blessed day in God's love and grace! [mehr]
