“When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty.” Jeremiah 15:16 (NIV)
Jeremiah expressed his thanks to God when he wrote these words. He had good reason because in his life he endured great suffering and persecution for God's sake. Jeremiah knew that he belonged to the Lord and he experienced joy when he was aware that God was speaking to him. For Jeremiah, when God gave him His words to write or speak, it was like giving him what he needed to live – he words were spiritual food for Jeremiah. We who belong to the family of God today can have the same experience that Jeremiah did. The word of God is our spiritual food. We can make his word a part of our life just as Jeremiah did. We are glad that God has made His Word available to us and it can be our joy and our hearts delight today.
