I am Reminded of the necessity and honor of a lifestyle humility. Dependence on God alone for all things, which is humility, is not only pleasing to God, it is required. He is opposed to the proud, to the self-sufficient, to the arrogant. In keeping with our being living witnesses of Christ crucified, as ambassadors for Jesus, I am reminded that we should exemplify such affectionate humility – that we should glorify The Cross. I am reminded that the proud, self-sufficient, and arrogant in this world have set their hope in their desire – wealth and pleasure. I am reminded that we should not hope to gain new believers with the same allure as this world – wealth and pleasure. I am reminded that humility is the key to finding mercy. Humility is the great stumbling block. Hope for wealth and pleasure does not lead us into repentance. Humility leads us into repentance. I am reminded that my life must display this relationship with God, for faith without works is only death. More of You Lord, less of me.
