Oral Roberts Laid Hands on over a million people for Healing in his lifetime. In his autobiography he tells how some did not receive healing and left the meeting as sick as when they showed up. And even others came back months or years later after being healed and found themselves afflicted again. Now for Oral Roberts there were far more people healed than not. But people always asked about those who did not receive their healing.

He went to the Word of God for the answer. “God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:3). That means that every person on earth has a measure of faith, but we must choose where to invest that faith. We can give it back to the One that gave it to us in the first place and believe that it is His will for our healing. Or we can put our faith in someone or something else.

Often times people can’t move past what the doctor has predicted. Or they struggle with self-pity and can’t seem to muster the strength to fight for their life. And sometimes people even quietly decide they want to die for various reasons.

Oral Roberts was one of the most anointed men of God in modern times you’ll ever see. When he called out spirits of sickness, they came out! And the person walked, ran, saw, heard or whatever they needed healing for. He laid hands on lepers and they were healed. Yet there were the few that did not respond under this anointing.

Those people were taken to the side and ministered to further. Because it takes the whole Gospel to set us free. People lock into healing or prosperity and they go and go in that area. But you need the Gospel in its entirety to be set free. You can believe God will heal you but that will not profit you much if you do not equally and fervently believe in forgiveness. So many people are afflicted by illness because they are holding on to unforgiveness when the Bible clearly tells us to forgive one another.

There are sicknesses related to demonic oppression and generational curses. All of those things must be acknowledged and dealt with according to scripture. And once you get free, you must work at staying free. Don’t wander back to a life of doubt, sin and unforgiveness because that sickness is just waiting to come back (Matthew 12:45).

The Lord delivered me from depression almost 20 years ago now but don’t think it doesn’t come around poking at me, looking for an opening to get back into my life. But I have spent those years filling my life with the love, purposes and plans of God so that it has no space.

Whatever you need: money, healing, purpose, hope; know that it takes the whole Gospel. We cannot embrace one part and leave the others to choose at our discretion. I encourage you to become a student of the Word of God. Each piece fits into the other. Obedience and forgiveness are keys to so much of what we need and to understand them you must accept the Word of God in its entirety. I know you are up for the challenge; it is a journey worth taking.
