A Sproul family member reached out to us to share the tale of RC Jr and Lisa Sproul's steamy "courtship." The details are prurient enough that this article might be considered by some to warrant an NC-17 rating. We had misgivings about sharing this at all. We're not in the habit of being salacious for salaciousness sake. Rather, we have an objective, and that objective will be explained at the close of this article. It's an objective that can only be achieved should our readers take action.

Hookups like this happen every day... via Ashley Madison and Tinder. However, with the possible exception of Tullian Tchividjian, love connections of this nature are rare -- or at least they're rare in the world of Christian pastors, rarer still for Reformed Presbyterian pastors.

In previous posts we've given examples of the malicious ways Lisa Sproul divided the Sproul family, employing some of the worst forms of parental alienation imaginable. As a further example, there's the marriage of Delaney Sproul to Joshua Phillips on September 29, 2017. RC Jr had accepted the couple's request to officiate the wedding. But Lisa sabotaged the Sproul family yet once again. At the last minute she insisted they boycott the wedding. As he'd consistently done with Lisa's prior demands, RC Jr submitted to his wife. The minor Sproul children were also prohibited from attending. RC Sproul Sr. saved the day, stepping in to officiate the wedding. 

After more than 4 years of unrelenting parental alienation RC Jr and Lisa Sproul recently managed to outdo themselves. They publicly slandered the late Denise Sproul, accusing her of "marital unfaithfulness." The allegation isn't just despicable and dastardly, it's utterly insane, leading us to believe RC Sproul Jr has quite literally lost his mind. Upon first reading the allegation we thought it was likely rooted in projection. People who are as eager as RC Jr and Lisa to slander family members usually have many skeletons tucked away in their closets. Projection is often used to deflect attention away from oneself. But when the projection is as outrageous as accusing the late Denise Sproul of adultery, all that RC Jr and Lisa Sproul have accomplished is to invite scrutiny to themselves. Let us now shine some light on those hidden skeletons in the Sproul's closet.

RC Jr's "courtship" of Lisa was preceded by his providing her marriage counseling over her troubled third marriage. Lisa referred to their sessions as "objective counsel":

"My relationship with RC began August of 2013. I reached out to him through the internet for objective counsel, not knowing if he even ran his own Facebook account." 

RC Jr's marriage counseling culminated in Lisa divorcing her third husband. But even well prior to the divorce Lisa reported her husband, Dr. David Ringel, to the feds. He was subsequently criminally indicted over what other doctors viewed as trumped up and frivolous charges. Immediately upon Lisa filing for divorce RC Jr made his play for her.

In a previous comment on this blog "Viktor" states:

2013 Lisa's husband asks her for a divorce, says in the filing he thinks she is nuts
2013 Lisa reaches out to RC for approval that she isn't crazy. He is initially skeptical, but gets sucked in to counseling her.
2013 Lisa reports Dr. Rigel to the feds for writing a prescription in her name.
2013 Rigel indicted
2015 Rigel asks to patch it up with Lisa. She asks him to go to counseling.
2016 She finds "grounds for divorce" from the counseling.
2016 March she files for divorce from Rigel
2016 March RC Jr drove up to her hometown and declared his intentions.

...He had no business counseling her about her marriage. She obviously set eyes on him from 2013.

Viktor is in an ideal position to give a faithful account of what transpired from 2013-2016. If our understanding is correct, Viktor also counseled Lisa over the same time frame as did RC Jr, perhaps starting even earlier. But Viktor's recommendations to Lisa was quite different from RC Jr's "objective counsel."

Our article on RC Jr and Lisa Sproul's attacks against the late Denise Sproul prompted a Sproul family member to contact us. They gave us permission to repost a portion of their email but asked that we not divulge their name:

Lisa started reaching out to RC on facebook during her marriage to David Ringel. When Lisa and David divorced she told us that she was talking with a man whos wife passed ..is famous.. has a bunch of kids…homeschools… basically everything Lisa tried to make herself appear to be.. she has had some weird infatuation for homeschooling.. Not actually schooling..but just the appearance of it..

So anyway..RC bought her a tummy tuck..a car…. Sent nudes back and forth.. Lisa's son Jordan actually was made to take them of Lisa for RC, and Jordan has seen RCs penis pictures sent back,etc. she actually made him to shop for lingerie while they were talking,pre-marriage, to help pick out what to send him pictures of.. pretty gross..but nothing new in this family. We grew up with her constantly walking around naked,etc.

On the way to him proposing he actually hit and ran over a median bc he was drunk…. But she ignored it.. and laughed it off…

So after her tummy tuck he bought for her, my first experience with him was this.. He came up to visit maybe a week or so after her surgery.. he told her to HIDE her pain meds since she wasn’t needing to take them..”So that we wouldn’t take them!!”..implying the children were pill heads or something ?.. funny he ended up taking all of them before his OWI,combining with the alcohiol. 

She had him get rid of everything of denises possible.. she kept saying how terrible the kids treated her..how she couldn’t have sex bc pictures of denise..etc.

She made the boys share a room(they still do and they have 5 bedrooms..they were told they can no longer pee standing up..she didn’t want to clean up pee..they've put cameras and alarms on on the boys door "as scare tactics" according to Jordan..They are beaten with belts over many many things..including,but not limited to sneaked choc.chips..

Lisa is a pro at making sure her husbands, as well as children, do not communicate to anyone .. usually, and especially Other family. I have had to help RCs children.. Maili specifically  the last year 1/2.. and the only way it was possible was through Vesta and Sherrie... it was a very crazy year.. with them sending her to a children’s home..

At the same time that RC Jr was sending pictures of his reproductive organs to Lisa, he was being lavishly paid by Ligonier Ministries. Nothing other than nepotism can account for the under-qualified RC Sproul Jr being appointed to Rector of Reformation Bible College. For over 20 years RC Jr's personal life, ministerial life, and family life have been a series of dumpster fires. The penis pics are just the latest example of that. Ligonier Ministries has played a major role in enabling RC Jr, refusing to hold him accountable for his unrelenting and grotesque sins. The probability is high Ligonier continues enabling RC Jr to this very day.

Rather than disciplining RC Jr over his Ashley Madison account scandal, Ligonier suspended him in 2015 with pay. In other words they gave him a one year paid vacation, all at the expense of Ligonier donors. 

Barely 5 months after being "restored" to Ligonier, RC Jr was arrested and convicted for felony drunk driving (with children in the car, no less). RC Jr had little other option but to resign from Ligonier. But Ligonier couldn't seem to stop themselves from rewarding RC Jr yet once again for causing another major scandal. Ligonier gave RC Jr a $156,603 "severance package."

Let no one think, however, that RC Jr's departure from Ligonier means he's been kicked off the Ligonier Ministries gravy train. According to Ligonier's tax filings RC Jr received $106,017.00 in 2018, most of which was "independent contractor" payments. The probability is high that RC Jr is still being paid six figures as a Ligonier Ministries independent contractor. We've attempted to confirm this with Ligonier, but they refuse to admit or deny it (if he weren't wouldn't they just deny it?). 

RC Sproul Jr has been on Ligonier's payroll since 1989, including throughout much of the time he pastored St. Peter Presbyterian Church. From Ligonier's available tax returns we calculate that Ligonier paid RC Jr $1,489,966.00 in salary, pension benefits, severance, and independent contractor payments. The actual figure is likely higher since tax returns are only available from 2002-2018. Those moneys all came to RC Jr courtesy of Ligonier Ministries' donors.

Enabling parents are as commonplace as are the disastrous consequences thereof. If parents wish to enable their children, even doing so their entire lives, that's their prerogative. What isn't their prerogative is enabling their children with other people's money. Ligonier Ministries maintains its status as a tax-exempt religious organization only because it promises to comply with 501(c)(3) legal requirements, chief among them not engaging in private enurement. Ligonier Ministries has consistently set the bar exceedingly low for family members, or at least a select few family members (RC Jr's family pet name is "Precious"). Some Sproul family members have integrity and work hard for Ligonier donors; but the track record of a few others has meant scandal after scandal. 

If the Sproul family wishes to continue financially enabling RC Jr they should do so on their own dime. Every time Ligonier Ministries sends RC Sproul Jr another check they're defrauding their donors.
