The Trimmings from the Tree Collards

The trimmings from the Tree collard cuttings did not go to waste.
I put them on a paper plate for my redfoot tortoises.
Chevelle (left) ate them all while Ranger (right) watched.
I'm still trying to figure out nearly imperceptible actions what she takes to show dominance to make him back off.

Tree Collards are a super food

I first learned about the tree collards last year and decided to take the plunge and try my hand at growing them this year. I love raising heritage breed livestock and growing heirloom, nearly extinct, or unusual vegetable plants. We are losing far too much that might prove to be beneficial to future generations.
