Where is God when it hurts? We sometimes ask that question during those dark times in our life. But God’s Love for us is inseparable. When it’s dark in our life, we may not see His hand at work on our behalf. But we walk by faith and not by sight. “Neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God,” Paul writes (Romans 8:38-39).
Now those are two loaded verses. They include anything that can be against us.
In the verses above, God does not promise us that, as Christians, life will always go well for us. We have challenges and disappointments in our life just as those who don’t believe in Christ do. But during those times, we have God’s Inseparable Love on our side, and that makes all the difference in the world.
Am I saying or implying that God does not love those who don’t accept His Son? No, I’m not. God loves everybody because He is love. But when we accept Christ as our Savior and allow Him to be Lord of our life, we enjoy a very special relationship with God though Christ. Nothing and no one in this world can come between us.
So where is God when it hurts? Close to us; very close.
God is always ready, willing and able to demonstrate His love toward us. We may have strong bonds with others in this life. But sometimes, their ability to help us in a time of need pales in comparison to their desire to do so. But the God who loves us with an inseparable love can do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.
