When you hear of wars and disturbances

“Furthermore, when you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified. For these things must take place first, but the end will not occur immediately.” — Luke 21:9

Since the dissolution of the USSR, the Anglo/NATO combine has been regarded as the sole superpower. Its military has bombed and invaded numerous countries—beginning with Serbia in 1999. Since then the US-led coalition has invaded Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria and established close to one thousand military bases around the globe, mostly encircling Russia and China. Numerous other so-called proxy wars have been undertaken, such as in Yemen and most recently in Ukraine.

Yet, none of these wars and disturbances are the fulfillment of what Jesus foretold. How do we know? Because those wars did not lead to total war; namely, ‘nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom,’ although it remains to be seen what the ongoing war in Ukraine will lead to.

The present Russian military operation in Ukraine, sold in the Western media as an “unprovoked attack,” has actually been many years in the making. For some years prior the Anglo military machine has been arming and training various Nazi militias in Ukraine —most prominently the Azov battalion in order to wage war on the predominately ethnic Russian population in the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.

The refusal on the part of NATO to even consider Russia’s oft-repeated security concerns indicates that the war planners in the West intentionally provoked Moscow to invade as a pretext to initiate what the Russian foreign minister described as a ‘total hybrid war’ against Russia to isolate and economically crush the world’s preeminent nuclear power.

It is a dangerous confrontation given the fact that the military operation in Ukraine has brought two nuclear-armed blocs of nations to the edge of war. No doubt that is why Jesus said “do not be terrified.”

According to the marginal reference in the NWT, the “disturbances” Jesus said must take place may refer to disorders and uprisings and opposition to established authority; insurrection, political turmoil.

Having been tyrannized by unnecessary lockdowns and outrageous political chicanery like establishment-orchestrated riots and now experiencing the beginning of runaway inflation, suddenly making gasoline and food unaffordable for the poorest, the stage is set in both Europe and America for widespread unrest, even civil war, and insurrection. Disturbances indeed!

But nothing is as it seems in Satan’s house of mirrors. Russia may not be the primary target of the hybrid war now underway. Given the fact that Moscow has apparently already anticipated and prepared for such hostilities and can weather the sanctions leveled against it, the fact that oil-producing nations are moving to circumvent the Petro-dollar system —an arrangement whereby all oil and gas purchases in the world must be transacted in US dollars —crashing the world’s reserve currency may be the ultimate goal and the necessary disaster to implement the intended great reset. It is exactly as the Russian minister described —“a total hybrid war” —but only ostensibly against Russia. The real target for take-down is America and Europe.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are familiar with what the Bible says concerning the last days being Critical Times hard to deal with for the reason that “men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God…”

Regular readers of this site know that my main message is the repudiation of the Watchtower’s central doctrine that Christ’s parousia and the last days began in 1914.

Just to reiterate, Paul did not say that men will become lovers of themselves, and all the rest, during the last days. No, the reason the last days will be characterized by critical times hard to deal with is because men will already be so ungodly and corrupt. That seems to be the point where the world is now. In other words, the corruption of civilization is not a process that takes place during the last days. It is the general state of society when the last days begin; thus, making for difficult times hard to deal with.

Consider the situation in Europe at this moment. As part of the draconian sanctions against everything Russian, over $300,000,000,000 of Russia’s reserve currency deposits in central banks used to facilitate financial transactions in various currencies have been confiscated. In response, Russia will no longer sell gas and oil in dollars or euros that can be easily stolen. As of March 31st, all nations hostile to Russia must pay in rubles.

Germany depends on Russia for about 40% of its gas. It cannot be easily replaced. Instead of complying with Russia’s demands German politicians are open to no agreement and are willing to destroy the entire industrial sector of the economy and force gas rationing on 83 million citizens. According to one analyst, William Engdahl, without the full supply of natural gas from Russia German industry will collapse in about one month. Critical times hard to deal with?

Reminiscent of Marie Antoinette’s infamous last words “let them eat cake,” a German minister has advised people to wear warmer sweaters —as if the ruling class was going to deprive themselves of warmth to punish Putin.

Given the fact that the time of the end —otherwise known as the final part of the days, the conclusion as well as the last days —does not begin with a bang, but rather when the kings of the north and south begin pushing one another, which then results in a flood of force, it seems logical that the wars and disturbances that must come first before total, global war, also mark the beginning of the time of the conclusion.

No wonder Jesus warned his disciples to be awake due to the fact the Master’s coming would be as unexpected and stealthy as a thief in the night.
