Repair the World in Slingshot 2016!

Consider us delighted. Recently we found out that Repair the World is included in this year’s Slingshot Guide, an annual compilation of the 50 most inspiring and influential Jewish organizations and programs in North America.

Founded in 2005, the guide has become a one-stop resource hub for volunteers, funders, and anyone interested in innovative Jewish communal life to connect with change makers. Jewish environmental programs? Yep. Organizations promoting arts in Jewish life? Yep. Innovative Jewish spirituality? Jewish LGBT groups? Groundbreaking interfaith work? Yep, yep, and yep.

These are organizations with budgets large and small, that work with people across the Jewish spectrum (and beyond!), and punch well above their weight when it comes to making an impact.

When Repair the World was first founded, we made it our mission to make volunteer service a defining part of Jewish life. We hoped to inspire people to get engaged, get active, and make a difference in their communities. Being included in the Slingshot Guide feels like more than just an honor for Repair the World. It is a strong indication that serving others (for and, more importantly, with them) has become an undeniably central part of what it means to be Jewish today. We could not be happier.

Thanks so much to everyone at Slingshot, and to all our fellow Slingshot Guide organizations (check out the full 2016 list). We are looking forward to innovating with you this year and beyond!
