Scripture:
And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. – Matthew 28:20b

Observation:
Jesus had been arrested, falsely accused, tried in a kangaroo court, sentenced to death, beaten, mocked, whipped, nailed to a tree, and stabbed to ensure he was dead. Then he was buried in a tomb but came back to life on the third day following his burial. He appeared to many people, accounts climb to around 500, for a period of 40 days before returning to heaven. Just prior to his ascension, he told the apostles that he’d been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Also, he told them to go throughout the world to make disciples of people, baptize them, and teach them all he’d commanded the apostles. Before he left though, he assured them with this notion, that he’d be with them always even to the end of this age.

Application:
The Old Testament tells us via Moses that God is the faithful God, who never leaves us or abandons us. He stands by us, as his children, to love, to have, to hold, to cherish, even after our physical death. His marriage contract with us, as the bride of Messiah, is eternal! There is no death separation clause! He chose us before the foundation of the world as his own and made a way for us to be just that. He doesn’t want us to worry about how we’re going to get through this life. Jesus told us to make our first priority seeking the kingdom of God and his righteous and not to worry about the basic necessities of life. Why? Because God knows what we need even before we ask him and will provide them for us if we trust in him. In fact, the apostle Paul told us not to worry about anything but to give God thanks for everything instead! If we know that we have a God like this with us, then why do we fret and worry over the little and big things of life? He promised he would always be with us. He never goes back on his word! In fact, his word always accomplishes the mission it was sent out to do! Therefore, learn to trust in and rely on the word of God, and more importantly, learn to trust in and rely on the God who gave us his Word – Jesus! Let’s live life to the fullest knowing that God is the point man on our journey as well as the rear guard. He’s got this!

Prayer:
Father, thank you for being there for me. You’ve always been there and always will be. Your word states that you’re the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. You never change; you’re the only constant in the universe! Therefore, why do I at times get anxious over things that are out of my control? Help me to be rock solid, standing strong, and steadfast in you! I know you love, even though there are times I feel like you’re nowhere around. The opposite is true! You ARE there! You live inside me. You made me the temple not made with human hands where Your Spirit resides. Thank you for loving me and being there for me, even when I don’t always see it or know it. You’re the greatest! May your will always be done in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
