Where are the Sisters gone? ¿Dónde se han metido las monjas?

Two Missionaries of Charity (Sisters of Mother Teresa) visited us today. Unfortunately, their car was broken, the water was heating up, and two people tried to repair it. As the thing took longer than expected, we invited them to pass to our dining room and have a cup of coffee with us. It was a great time of talk and as always, they manage to keep the conversation on you and not on them. They ask about your family, for what you do, they never speak badly about anyone, and they make you feel important. At one point it seemed that the car was already fixed and we left, Br. Martí and I, to see how the thing was going. When I got back into the house, the sisters were gone. That’s weird. Where are they gone, where are they? Guess where? As soon as they had a free moment, they went into the chapel to pray. There they were sitting on the floor, as if in contemplation. And it had been ten minutes, no more! People who spontaneously pass from conversation to contemplation. Or maybe when they were talking to us they were already in contemplation ... When they left, I told them that the breakdown of the car, after all, had not been a disgrace, but a grace (at least to me).
