Throughout our lives, God sends other people to interact with us. We could learn so much if only we would listen and pay attention. Johnny was one such person. I worked with him years ago when I was at American Home Patient. He was an older gentleman always dressed nice. He was a recovering alcoholic who had given his life to Christ. He always carried a bible with him even in his work van. He was always happy and was eager to tell you about Jesus if you would give him the time. He would minister to and talk about Jesus to the customers that he would go out and see. I was always telling him now Johnny you can't be doing that it offends some people. He never listened to me and continued doing it anyway. I would always joke and say that he had traded one addiction for another. He was eventually fired from his position because of his sharing with the customers. I learned that he had passed away a few years back. I really didn't think about it too much until now. I'm sure that our Lord had a nice mansion reserved for Johnny and that he has been justly rewarded for a job well done. I wished that had gotten to know Johnny better. I wish that I hadn't made fun of him for his faith and love for Jesus. I do thank God for sending him my way. Because now I understand why he was happy and always wanting to speak about Jesus. Now I want to tell everyone about Jesus and what he has done in my life. How he has taken a self-centered sinner who wanted to take his own life, who felt empty, alone, depressed, sad, unable to love others, ridden with guilt and anger at himself and others, and made him whole again. Thank you, Father, for saving me from myself not that I deserved saving but because you love me and care for me and call me your child.I hope you will reserve me a place near Johnny I think that the two of us would have a lot in common to talk about now. Peace to all.
