Exodus 20 vs 12

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

1. Honour means respect, care, support, and obedience.
2. Honouring your parents means fearing your parent.
3. We all desire a long life, but the secret of not dying prematurely, according to the word of God, is to honour our parents.
4. A lot of people forget and abandon their parents when they become comfortable.
5. Many people think they have nothing to give their parents because they are not rich.
6. When I became a parent, I realised the sacrifice my parents made for me.
7. Your parents are your biological father and mother.
8. Treating other adopted parents well is good, but most of us care for other people more than our parents.
9. Many people care for their guidance, spiritual parents and mentors more than their parents.
10. Do not forget your parents. Set apart a part of your income to take care of your parents.
11. Visit them, care for them, and meet their needs. Long life shall be yours.
12. If you have dishonoured or abandoned your parent, make an amendment today, and mercy shall speak for you in Jesus’ name.
13. Long life shall be your portion in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
