Bible study: Shake off the Beast

Reference Text: Acts 28 vs. 1-5- ¹ Once we were safe on shore, we learned that we were on the island of Malta. ² The people of the island were very kind to us. It was cold and rainy, so they built a fire on the shore to welcome us.

³ As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. ⁴ The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.” ⁵ But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.

¹And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

²And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

³And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

⁴And when the barbarians saw the venomous Beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

⁵And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

1. The background to this incident was that Paul and 275 other people on board a ship going to Rome, have escaped a 14 day windstorm  and thunderstorm  on high sea, that would have drown the ship and all the occupants; and they have now arrived safely at an Island called Melita.
2. Paul was being taken to Rome to face trial for preaching the gospel.
3. Just as they were settling down in Melita island,, a big snake ran out of a log of wood and fastened itself on the hand of Paul.
4. Why  did the snake attack Paul, out of the 276 that escaped from the sea storm and arrived at the Island?
5. Targeted attacks against me, attack your senders in Jesus name
6. The beast in the verses, is another word for the Snake, and this symbolises Satan.
7. Just like the Beast, pursued Paul to Melita, some of us are still being pursued day and night by various Beasts.
8. Pharaohs pursuing my journey to Canaan land, shake off to the Red sea in Jesus
9. Paul was a persecutor of Christians before but Satan started pursuing him after he started serving Christ
10. Every dark power pursuing me since birth, shake off in Jesus name
11. The snake that fastened itself against Paul stands for the spirit of death, but Paul shook it off
12. Venomous beasts, assigned to kill me shake off in Jesus name
13. The venomous beast that fastened itself on Paul’s hands stands for the spirit of oppression, and affliction.
14. Paul rejected the affliction and shook it off, you need to shake off every contrary thing in your life in Jesus name
15. If Paul did not shake off the beast, the beast would have killed him
16. Paul shook off the venomous beast into the fire.
17. The fire represents the Holy Ghost fire. What is that big problem you need to shake off into the fire of God?
18. Arise today and shake into fire every contrary thing in your life in Jesus name
19. Many of us live in fear and are afraid of the enemy. If many of us are in Paul’s position, the fear of the snake tied on our hands would have consumed us
20. Paul was able to shake off the viper because he was anointed. If he didn’t have the power of God the beast would have poisoned him to death. Paul was able to shake off the viper into fire and suffered no harm.
21. I receive anointing to trample on snakes and scorpions
22. Another lesson is that Paul was able to transform himself spiritually within a short time from a Christian convert to a Christian general. Many of us have remained feeding bottle Christians for years.
23. Holy Spirit turn me into God’s General in Jesus name
24. There is a reader of this message whose life, womb, business, prayer life, spiritual life, salvation, marriage, wedding, money etc has been tied by a venomous beast
25. The assignment the Holy Spirit is giving you today is to Shake off the beast into fire
26. The beast may be the spirit of infirmity. Shake off that sickness into fire in Jesus name
27. Paul was able to shake of the viper because he is a son of God. Today, you too can receive the power to shake off  the enemy, if you make a u turn as Paul did and decide to follow Jesus and obeys all commencements.
28. Repent from your sins and be born again

• Every venomous viper attacking my glory, shake off by fire in the name of Jesus
• You ancient Serpent attacking my business, shake off in Jesus name
• You serpent attacking my progress, shake off by fire, shake off into fire in Jesus name
• Every witchcraft affliction shake off by fire in Jesus name
