The Heavens Declare The Glory Of God

  • Scripture Passage Being Examined:
-"The heavens are declaring the glory of God, and their expanse shows the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1)
  • Commentary On Psalm 19:1:
-In this text, we see that King David, the psalmist, is deeply pondering the works of God. As a result of this contemplation, his soul is moved deeply. David is in awe because of his mediation of the divine mysteries of the Lord, as reflected through His work. All of Creation, whether it be heaven, the skies, sea, or the land, plainly attests to the triune God's divine majesty, intervention, and authorship. It reveals to us His magnificent glory. Creation bears the majestic imprints of His divinity. It flows with the beauty of His unchallengeable Lordship. Nature channels the waves of God's sovereignty. God is a God of infinite goodness and wisdom. Creation is meant to operate harmoniously with the Lord's will. Nature Reveals that it had an intelligent designer. Nature reveals that it had a rational cause. Nature reveals that it had a conscious creator. In short, nature reveals that it has been programmed by a divine mind of reason. The entirety of creation functions in an orderly and balanced manner. The universe has been methodically arranged by a loving God. It has been set into motion by a deity who desires to have a personal relationship with us. This supernatural mystery is worthy of all recognition because it resonates directly with the innermost part of the human being. The grace of God should be like a syrup that gradually saturates our souls to aid us in acknowledging that creation reflects His glory.
