What We Believe

Statement of Beliefs for The Light of Christ Church

We believe in one god that is the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that god created the whole universe and everything that the whole universe contains.

We believe that the Holy Bible, what's written in it, is true and that the Holy Bible is the god inspired truth for all people that wish to understand the nature and truth about god and about god's intentions for us.

We believe that the original version of the Nicene Creed is a valid statement for the church.

We believe that heaven and hell are real places and that we will spend eternity in one or the other, depending on the choices we make before we die.

We believe that Jesus Christ will come back again to judge the living and the dead.

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins so that we can be forgiven of our sins through him. We also believe that Jesus Christ came back to life during the third day after he died on the cross.

We believe that Jesus Christ was born from a virgin woman who's name was Mary. We believe that this happened because he was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, that they are just as real in modern times as they were in the past.

We believe in seven beliefs and practices that were held in high esteem by ancient Celtic people and are also justified by the Holy Bible. Those beliefs and practices are:

1)Simplicity: 2 Corinthians 11:3, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, 1 Corinthians 2:1-2.

2)Hope: Genesis 1:31, 1 Corinthians 13:13.

3)Equality: Galations 3:28, 1 Peter 2:5.

4)Mystery: 1 Timothy 6:16, 1 Timothy 3:16, Romans 11:34-36, 1 Corinthians 4:1.

5)Environment: Genesis 2:15, 1 Corinthians 4:2, Psalm 8:6-8.

6)Holism: Romans 14:8, Ephesians 1:9-10, Deuteronomy 6:6-7.

7)Immanence: Acts 17:27-28, Romans 11:36.

As the founder and presiding bishop for the Light of Christ Church, I believe that this statement of the beliefs of the church to be accurate.
