Saying Yes to God's Promises

2 Corinthians 1:20‭-‬22 MSG
Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.

2 Corinthians 1:20 AMP
For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God.

Our God is a Promise-Maker and a Promise-Keeper. It has been estimated that there are over 7,000 promises of God in the Bible! Why does God want to make so many promises? It shows how much He loves us and how much He is committed to us.

A promise is a declaration or assurance that one will do something or that a particular thing will happen. Every word of God word is true. God's words are definite, complete and final. Heaven and earth will pass away but His words will never pass away (Matt 24:35). Thus, every promise that God has made to us will definitely come to pass.

There is no shadow of doubt, no wavering and no withdrawing. Once God has spoken and made His promises, He doesn't change His mind. His promises to us are established through Jesus' death and resurrection and sealed through the Holy Spirit.

Deep within us, we can find the inner peace and assurance of God that He will be faithful to complete every of His promises. For God has stamped upon our hearts through  the Holy Spirit living within us.
But do you know that it takes two hands to clap? When God says yes to us, we need to say Yes to Him. In 2 Corinthians 1:20‭-‬22 the message bible says it is God's yes and our yes together, as we say Amen in agreement.
God will say yes to us, but we can reject and say no because of fear.

On many occasions in the Bible, you will see that when angels were sent by God to give promises to His people, the first thing the angels would say is Fear not!

When Mary was told by the angel Gabriel that she will conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and bring forth Jesus the Savior of the world, she replied willingly, let it be done to me according to your word (Luke 1:38).

We may not always understand His plans and promises but let us have faith and trust in God like Mary and be ready to say, Yes Lord! As we say yes to His yes, through our agreement with Him, we shall see the fulfillment of all His promises coming to pass in our life.

Prayer:
God, thank You for all the promises You have made to us in Your word and that they are all Your Yes to us. Today I receive them by faith by agreeing and say Yes and Amen to You. I shall experience the goodness of God in the land of the living as I trust You. Amen!

With love & blessings,
Hazel Ashley
