The Author and Finisher of our faith

I am convinced, after being a Christian for almost 20 years, that our lives don't revolve around God. Even if we are actively serving Him in church or in the mission fields. Even if we are always praying and reading the Bible. Even if we are constantly in Christian fellowship and go for seminars and conferences apart from church services and cell group.

The truth is, God Himself revolves around our lives, whether we like it or not.

Before I became a Christian, I have had no encounters with God. But God had made sure that He places people and situations in my life to steer me towards Him. He knows the beginning till the end. He knows us inside out. He already knew how we would react and what we would say.

Looking back, I saw myself going from a baby Christian, to a mature Christian, to a proud Christian, to a laid back Christian to a depressed Christian, and now a Christian on fire. A Christian on fire means, to Desire God. Desire to know Him more. Desire to know His word more. Desire the gifts He has for us. Desire to serve Him more. Desire to see signs, wonders and miracles. Desire to see Jesus coming back.

Before getting to where I am today, I had to go through fire, maybe even hell. I couldn't even say anything good about what God had done for me over the years. I had no testimony to share.
God steered me through my life, guided me and taught me. Every step of the way. Every Moment. I finally realised that it is not me, but Him.

Are you going through fire today? Do you feel that you are experiencing hell? Friends, can I encourage you today that God is with you? He revolves around your life.

If today you cannot find anything good to testify about God, try again tomorrow. You will find that life is not as bad as it seems. (I will share my testimony about sharing testimony in another post.)

The key is that we need to start focusing our eyes on Jesus again. Start somewhere. Be it to pray, or to read Bible, or to sing a praise or a worship, or to attend different seminars. Keep yourself spiritually "busy". Always remember to look to Jesus as our author and finisher of our faith. He is with you, and He will guide you and lead you, as long as you allow Him to. He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1‭-‬2 NKJV

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love. You are the author and finisher of our faith. We acknowledge that You are the Lord of our lives and our situations. No matter how bad our circumstances may be, You will always watch over us and keep us safe. Let us turn our eyes back on You, Jesus, and to trust in You once again. In Your precious name we pray, amen!
