Day 21 Let Go and Let God

Forgetting about the past and putting them behind (Phil 3:1, 7-8, 12-14) is the key to moving on to fulfill the calling of God in our life.

When you keep looking back to the past, you will get distracted and lose your focus on your present and your future.

Eventually, you will have little or no progress in life, or even regress backward. Remember Lot's wife, how God has warned them not to look back behind, as God was destroying Sodom and Gomorrah,  but she looked behind and she turned into a pillar of salt.

That's not the will of God for us.

God has a future and a hope for us. His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us. (Jer 29:11)

We need to always look up to Jesus, for He is the author and finisher of our faith, He is the Beginning and the End. He holds our future in His hands.

When we let go of the past that we are holding on to, then our hands are free up to hold God's hands.

You can never change your past: your bad choices, your broken relationships, your failures, your regrets, your past hurts, offenses and disappointments.

But God has empowered you to move on with Him.

He is your Savior and deliverer.

He has saved you from death into life.

And He will deliver you from darkness into His glorious light.

So let go of your past so that you can move on with God to your upward call in Christ.

Forgive and forget.

Let God heal you and let God put right all the wrongs made, be it your own mistakes or what others have wronged against you.

Focus on your present, for it is a gift from God.

Look to your future, for we have hope that our future is great and secure  in Him!

He will turn your sorrows into dancing, your mourning into joy.

Today is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Rejoice in the Lord always, I say again Rejoice!

Philippians 3:1‭, ‬7‭-‬8‭, ‬12‭-‬14 NKJV
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is
not tedious, but for you it  is safe.

Philippians 3:‬7‭-‬8‭ NKJV
But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

Philippians 3:‬12‭-‬14‭ NKJV
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I  do,  forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Dear Lord, I thank You that You have a great plan, a good future and hope for me. Today I make a decision to forget the past and put them behind me. All my failures, my disappointments, my brokenness, my hurts and offenses, I give them all to you. I want to release them, to let go and let God take over. I receive Your healing right now. I believe that all things will work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. You will turn my mourning into dancing and my sorrows into joy. I confess that my future is bright and secure in Your hands and I put my total trust in You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

God bless,
Hazel Ashley
