I view non-Attachment as space. Space contains all things, all things arise, grow strong, decline and eventually decay and return to the source. Then form this source, things spring into existence once again.
Once you know this and realize that in the present moment everything appears and dissolve to what you are: awareness, you realize that anything you are attached to, you in fact are non-attached to, it's only phenomena that arises and then subsides.
Even if you lose a very close loved one, at a certain moment, the phenomena ceases, and dissolves from awareness, and moments later it comes back. You are always free. You bring up this "attachments" in real time, now, and they are all the time disappearing.
You may have the sense that you are attached to those things because you are unconscious of the fact that there are moments when they are not manifest in the present moment, in your awareness. So every time you check, you give birth, or manifest, that attachement, in the present moment, you suffer. Not until you realize that you are giving birth to it, manifesting it, at any given time that you experience the attachment, will you comprehend that, you are actively doing it. By comprehending the nature of mind/manifestation/awareness, you are aware that this attachment that arises will subside, and you will be free. This will allow you to see and be aware of the moments in which the attachment/phenomena is not present, and the arising of the attachment will become less intense, and less frequent, until it completely extinguishes.
