QUESTION: Is yoga part of Buddha's teachings?

I have seen that in the Western world, people generally place Buddha with Yoga and vice versa. If you go to a yoga studio, there is a good chance that they also discuss Buddha and the Dhamma. From my understanding, yoga is part of what Hinduism teaches. I am aware that the Buddha had practiced yoga but discovered that it was not the path to end suffering. So he stopped.

  1. Are people correct in paring yoga and the Dhamma together?

  2. Are they really just combining two unrelated subjects?

  3. Are there any Buddhist monasteries, or meditation centers that teach yoga?

  4. Is the Western world wrong?

These are the questions I have regarding Buddhism and yoga. I have formed my own opinion on it but would like to hear what others have to say on this subject.
