Wilder is floored by Fury
Both fighters had entered the ring never having been beaten in the professional ranks. Wilder as WBC champion and Fury as undefeated former undisputed champion. The fight itself was eagerly awaited because the men had fought each other to a standstill at their first fight. Not unexpectedly, some boxing fans were curious as to how either of the fighters would handle defeat having never tasted it.
Adding to the drama and oozing unbelievable confidence, the Gypsy King arrived in the ring carried on a golden throne. The stage was thus set for an epic fight.
However, like he said he would, Tyson dominated the fight from the first bell. He chased the champion around the ring flooring him twice.
Wilder’s corner threw in the towel in the seventh just as referee Kenny Bayless intervened to save him from further punishment.
