'Beatles' jihadists caught

Londoners Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh

The remaining two ISIS members of the 'Beatles' beheading gang led by the murderous Jihadi John have been seized.

Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh, who took part in the torture and killing of western hostages were detained in Syria by American-backed Kurdish fighters.

The two have been identified from their fingerprints and other biometric data, according to US officials.

Kotey, 34, and Elsheikh, 29, became notorious as part of the Daesh group dubbed the Beatles.

Officials in Britain have described their capture a potential “treasure trove” of intelligence.  They hope it will lead to information on the fate of John Cantlie, a British journalist who has been in Isis captivity since 2012.  Mr Cantlie appeared in a string of Isis propaganda videos, most recently in December 2016 in Mosul.
