Do you ever judge people for things that they did in the past, rejecting their behaviour and actions and letting the past be your only understanding of them as a person? We've all made judgements that lead us to and away from people, whether we realize it has happened or not. God calls us to Love everyone, not letting mistakes be what determines who we share His love with. Like they say, you can't judge a book by its cover. If you did, you probably wouldn't care to connect with most of the people you know right now. God calls us to be acceptant and forgiving of everyone, not letting first judgements stand in our way. Do you share God's love to everyone you pass?

Today's Reading states:'Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, "Arise, go to Nin'eveh, that great city, and proclaim to it the message that I tell you." So Jonah arose and went to Nin'eveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nin'eveh was an exceedingly great city, three days' journey in breadth. Jonah began to go into the city, going a day's journey. And he cried, "Yet forty days, and Nin'eveh shall be overthrown!" And the people of Nin'eveh believed God; they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them to the least of them. Then tidings reached the king of Nin'eveh, and he arose from his throne, removed his robe, and covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he made proclamation and published through Nin'eveh, "By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, or drink water, but let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and let them cry mightily to God; yea, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence which is in his hands. Who knows, God may yet repent and turn from his fierce anger, so that we perish not?"When God saw what they did, how they turned from their evil way, God repented of the evil which he had said he would do to them; and he did not do it' (Jonah 3:1-10).

Today's reading talks about how Jonah was hoping that God would turn on the people of Ninevah, as they were people of sin who had previously rejected God. Though he already knew from experience how loving and forgiving God could be, he expected an alternative reaction towards the Nenavites. God challenges us to love especially those who try to challenge and oppose Him, those who need to hear about His love for them most. Take some time today to pray and ask God to help you be an example of His love for those who need Him most right at this moment in their lives.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being a forgiving and loving Father. Help me not to pass judgements, but instead be an example of Your love for those who need to find You.
