God, Bring Me What I Need

Have you ever yearned for something so bad, making every attempt that you possibly could to get it, and still not succeeding? Maybe you go into deep prayer, starting to say a Novena every day to ask God to deliver if it be His will for you right at that moment. Since we've started house hunting, our strategy has been to keep praying, saying a Novena to St. Joseph to intercede for us in this journey. It's definitely a challenging experience, yearning for something for the good of your family, yet accepting at the same time God's will going forward, even if that means not getting our desirable outcome. God shows us that in the long run, we will get what we need in His timing, and everything will work out one way or another. We just need to remember that His will is greater than our own, and continue praying for patience in the ongoing process. Are you being patient?
Today's Gospel states:'At that time Jesus declared, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"' (Matthew 11:25-30).
Today's reading talks about how we need to rely on God for everything we need, especially when it feels like life isn't delivering right when we want it to. I can speak from experience, having things not go the way we want can be hard. However, when everything seemed to be pointing in the other direction, we continued to pray God's will be done for finding a house, and yesterday we officially were accepted. God is so very good. It may not have happened in the time we'd wanted, but everything worked out according to God's will. Think about times you've been impatient with God, making demands when later everything worked out for the best. Take some time today to pray and ask God to help bring you what you need by His will and timing and to practice patience.
Today we pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for helping me to get to where I am in my life right now. Guide me towards being a more patient disciple and let me be acceptant of Your will in Your timing.
I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
