Treasure Wisdom

Have you ever went to clean up a certain room, going through boxes of old treasures, special belongings? It's pretty cool to see the collected treasures and the memories that they bring as you come across them. You try to see if you can throw away or donate a few things so to save space, but it can be difficult, looking at all of the treausres before you, thinking of how each hold special memories. We Treasure belongings, at least ones of special significance, holding them at a great value. So we do the same with the precious Wisdom God gives to us? God gives us the information we need to live good lives, tells us everything we need to know, and yet many spend little time reading a Bible, attending mass, quiet in prayer. Should we not value the wisdom God gives to us even greater than those treasures we collect that we could never hope to throw away? Physical belongings won't come with us later after all.
Today's Reading states:'Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church, of which I became a minister according to the divine office which was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now made manifest to his saints. To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ. For this I toil, striving with all the energy which he mightily inspires within me. For I want you to know how greatly I strive for you, and for those at La-odice'a, and for all who have not seen my face, that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in love, to have all the riches of assured understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, of Christ, in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge' (Colossians 1:24--2:3)
Today's reading talks about how we should treasure the wisdom and knowledge that God gives to us. Think about the history of the church, how at times if you were even caught with a Bible, or being in worship, you could be executed. They valued faith so much, and many feared it. Think about how much time you spend daily in prayer. Do you treasure the wisdom God is giving you? Take some time to pray and ask God to help you treasure your faith.
Today we pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for helping me to know You Lord. Help me to treasure the wisdom and love You give me daily.
I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
