Are you a gullible person? I have to admit, I have made the mistake of falling for those practical jokes where someone tells you to 'look', followed by 'made you look'. Gullibility isn't necessarily a bad thing though, despite the teasing we may get or give for it. It may mean that you're just very trustworthy of others and couldn't believe someone would try to fool you. When building relationships, trust is a key element that we need, otherwise we don't grow to rely on and lean on one another. The same can be said for our Relationship with God. We need to be hopeful and trust that He is leading us where we need to be, continuing to build that relationship so that we trust in Him fully.

Today's Gospel states:'Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe." Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, "Peace be with you." Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side; do not be faithless, but believing." Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe"' (John 20:24-29).

Today's reading talks about Thomas' unbelief in Jesus' resurrection. He chose to believe what all the others were saying, that Jesus was gone and dead, instead of trusting in God and the information He'd given to the disciples. He was gullible enough to believe that everything Jesus said and did wouldn't really amount to anything, just because he didn't have physical proof before him. God wants us to trust, no matter the situations we face, the lies we're fed in the world that try to pull us away. We need to have hope and trust that He is with us, and continue to grow in faith, building that relationship. Take some time to pray and ask God to help you trust fully in Him.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being such a loving Father. Help me to always put my faith, hope and trust in You, no matter the challenges that try to pull me away. Let me do everything I can to grow more in relationship with You.
