Have you ever been on the same page as a friend, a family member, a colleague, and yet you disagree on the process it takes to get there? In the end, it seems like pointless arguments when you both want the same end result. However, we are people of pride, and try to prove our worth by being the one who is 'right'. When looking at many of the debates we hold in the world, so many of them can be narrowed down to personal values, what we value to be right and good, over what is wrong and sinful. However, when we put our values together, and get on the same page, it becomes easier to work together to find a proper end goal, and a path to achieve this. If you have friends and family who maybe don't agree with Church Doctrine, and the very basic fundamental beliefs of a Catholic, it can be challenging to start discussions. However, God is calling us to Love everyone, even those who may not agree with our Faith. Start with the basic values, love, the value of life, of what is right, and talk from there. It's time to take steps working with those who have other core beliefs that are like our own, with different faith beliefs. We have so much to learn that God is trying to teach us through our neighbour.

Today's Gospel states:'And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Be-el'zebul, and by the prince of demons he casts out the demons." And he called them to him, and said to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is Divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man; then indeed he may plunder his house. "Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin" -- for they had said, "He has an unclean spirit"' (Mark 3:22-30).

Today's reading talks about how a house divided cannot stand. A world that supports one another and is open to discussion about values in belief definitely feels more welcoming, showing the best example of God through us. Are there some people you never try to spark conversation with and avoid because you don't want to have to defend your belief? Maybe it's time to start from another angle, looking at similar values you both have and building relationships from there, being an example of your faith through how you love. God wants us to work in unity to help one another. Take some time to pray and ask God to help you be a good example of love, even for those who oppose your faith.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving me my faith, with You at the centre. Help me be strong and courageous against those who oppose my faith values, and build relationships with them that start with love and respect.
