do not consent.
It’s very simple isn’t it? When given the opportunity to sin don’t agree, don’t go along, don’t consent.
The flip side to that is deeply uncomfortable. It means every time I have sinned, at some level, I agreed to it. I gave my consent. I chose to do it.
Yes, there may have been pressures, threats, reasons, excuses but still I consented.
This is not about sin done to us. Sometimes we can feel guilty for things others have done to us. I’m not Talking about that. I’m talking about the choices I’ve made, the actions I’ve taken.
A big part of the wise life, the blessed life, the righteous life is about what you say no to. The advice is clear, easy to grasp and powerful – say no. You can.
