Tags: shirt hole idea

I think Jason may have just solved a mystery I've been trying to figure out for years.  YEARS!!!

I last (and first?) wrote about it in 2015 - most of my shirts had a small hole in them under my belly button and I had NO idea why.

EVERYONE I mentioned it to and showed the holes (sometimes just one, sometimes a few) said it was moths.  But what moths eat the same damn part of a bunch of shirts and nothing else.

I wondered if I was leaning against something at work and tried to replicate it... I thought maybe my pants had a pointy part I hadn't noticed?  I had no idea.

When a newer shirt got the hole in it again I showed it to Jason and explained how I was so frustrated with losing good shirts like this (because I've tried to sew up the hole but you can still notice it and I can't afford new clothes right now plus they don't make shirts this comfy anymore I swear!) and not knowing how it was happening!

Jason is the first person to come up with an idea that I think is actually right.

"It's probably your seat belt"

IT'S PROBABLY MY SEAT BELT!!!!

My seat belt hits right around where the holes are.  My seat belt has a little... I don't know... knob? thing that I believe is there to stop it from retracting too far and that knob/button thing hits right under my belly button.

Not all my shirts have this hol-y issue, but the ones that do are (were) some of my favourites that I've probably worn more than the fancy shirts with no (knock on wood) holes.

So, yeah, this is the first idea that actually makes sense and I don't really know the mechanism of how it's happening just that this might be *what* is happening.  So now I have to figure out how to cover this knob thing and hopefully save my shirts (t-shirts mainly) going forward!

Any thoughts (I mean duct tape is the obvious one I guess but... sticky... and not terribly pretty) on how to "fix" this possible issue?

And then any thoughts on how to go back in time and re-buy all my favourite ruined shirts that are no longer made? *sad trombone noises here*
