I am not on a Ferry right now heading to Vancouver for a concert.

I am mainly sad about this, but it's a smart/wise call in the end.

Jason is starting a new job next week and I'm in the middle of an intense (and vital) work thing and neither of us can afford to get sick (with Covid) right now and take the required time off, nevermind dealing with being sick.

I could, I suppose, go by myself, but it feels like a lot at what is already a stressful time, plus, I prefer to share events with people.  

We talked a lot about going (it's a rescheduled concert from 2020) and even booked a hotel and parking and a ferry reservation, but last week when his new position was confirmed we sat down and talked through it and he felt it was really unwise to potentially start a job spreading a virus and/or being sick and needing time off.  

Might we go to the concert and NOT get sick?  Absolutely.  But he didn't feel it was smart to take the risk, and I understand and so kind of defaulted to not going myself.

I'm sad, and trying to convince myself the show is not going to be all that great for like omg SO many reasons (sigh.. I'm trying).  

As the minutes and hours of today tick slowly by the reality of me being able to catch a ferry in time to get to the concert disappear.  As of the time of this posting, I could pull it off.  As of the time of you reading it?  I don't know.  But I'm not on a ferry and I'm not really planning on being on a ferry, I'm just kind of disappointed that this is where things have landed since I bought these tickets in 2019 and have been looking forward to it as a beacon of "Covid is over" I suppose ever since we went into lock down.  But Covid is not, and while I am vaccinated (not had my second booster yet though) and would be masked, the potential of contracting Covid in particular is just too high for me to feel like going, especially on my own.
