We already talked a lot about Beliefs and mentioned some techniques to change beliefs.
Somewhere mirrorwork, somewhere hypnosis are making new positive reference experiences.
Changing beliefs is one of the core topics of our Inner Game seminar.
For us, it’s shown, in our own journey by observation of our clients, that the process of changing a belief is way easier, when it’s supported by a coach or a trainer.
Also it requires a lot of knowhow and feeling because there is no right way.
People just react very individual on different techniques.
Some swear of mirrorwork and affirmations, while other people make great progress with hypnosis.
In this article we want to show you our typical basic to change belief by reframing.
Step 1: What´s the belief?
Often emotions helps us, to get connection with the beliefs, and to discover where the belief hold us back in our life.
Most of us have a strong belief that the stove top is very hot.
This belief is obviously very fair and validated, based on a very strong experienced we all made, by touching the hot plate as a child.
This is a very easy example of a belief, but is adaptable for every other belief.
Every belief was learned or experienced once in our life.
The same story with talking to girls.
Someone (probably your parents) in your past, somehow teached you consciously or unconsciously that approaching girls is wrong.
To locate the source of the belief, we formulate the new belief the client want to have (exp. I want to be confident around girls).
So the first question is, when was the first time he wasn’t confident around girls, or when the first person told him, to not be confident around girls.
Step 2: Discover the source of the belief:
When we found the source of the belief, the core memory, we can start to discover it.
Who was involved, what was the emotion?
In the focus on this step is to find the resources, which were missing in this situation.
In our example (It’s not okay to talk with girls), probably a supportive parent where missing.
Step 3: Give resources
This is where the magic happens.
As an adult we have access to all the resources, which were missing while we made those core memories, which are the root for our negative belief.
So we are changing the belief by adding those resources to those memories.
It’s basically overwriting the experiences with a new one.
Step 4: Anchor the new belief
With the new experience a new belief is installed.
The last step is to anchor those new beliefs.
This simple guide is basically all our Inner Game work and shows how we are changing beliefs. If you want to change your beliefs on your own, focus on formulating your new belief.
