The Detroit Lions tight end was not acting like a player who just lost his season due to an injury.
While we continue to wait for confirmation on the extent of Eric Ebron’s injury, the third-year tight end has been updating his social media. First he posted a few cryptic, but potentially optimistic tweets:
The Fans Were Great Today!! We Appreciate You Guys.— Eric Ebron (@Ebron85) August 6, 2016
P.S. God Got Me. . You Only Saw A Smidgen Of What Me And Staff Going To Do ✌ ️
Thanks Everyone For The Prayers Means A Lot! ✊— Eric Ebron (@Ebron85) August 6, 2016
It’s hard to draw a ton of conclusion from those tweets, but Ebron remains fairly upbeat about his situation.
Then, around 3:12 p.m. ET, Ebron posted this video to his Snapchat account:
This was just posted from @Ebron85's snapchat account 40 minutes ago. pic.twitter.com/GdjNd99r7s— Pride Of Detroit (@PrideOfDetroit) August 6, 2016
The timing of the social media post suggests this was taken well after being carted off Ford Field with a potentially serious injury.
Ebron is a very positive person in general, so his happy mood may not tell us that much. But still, this seems like a very positive sign.
It’s worth mentioning that while it looks like Ebron is driving, the camera on Snapchat is typically reversed, so he is definitely in the passenger seat here.
We’ll continue to update you on Ebron’s prognosis as information comes in.
UPDATE: Ebron has reportedly told a few teammates that he’s “okay”:
#Lions TE Eric Ebron, who suffered an Achilles injury today, has indicated to at least two teammates that he’s OK… So could be minor.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 6, 2016
