Oh boy here come the panic and rumors again.
If you didn't catch last year's fiasco with Deandre Levy's hip, you didn't miss too much of value; that is assuming you don't value chaos, panic and fear. Nevertheless it's time to start that engine up again because on Friday the Lions placed Deandre Levy on the active/non-football injury list, along with safety Don Carey.
Lions place LB DeAndre Levy & S Don Carey on active/non-football injury (NFI) list to start camp. https://t.co/9lwENyeTRp— Tim Twentyman (@ttwentyman) July 29, 2016
For those unfamiliar with the list, the NFI is similar in regards to the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, although it is generally designated for injuries that happen, as the name suggests, outside of the course of preparing for and playing football.
Regardless, it means that Carey and Levy are sidelined for the beginning of camp. It's certainly more troubling for the immediate future of Don Carey on the team, but for DeAndre Levy it will certainly elicit hand-wringing over his hip, which became an issue in the lead-up to the 2015 season. There's nothing right now that indicates it is indeed Levy's hip, however.
