Equanimeous has been promoted to the active roster, meaning Brother FIGHT is on!
Last week, Detroit Lions rookie receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was asked if he had any wager going on with his brother, Equanimeous St. Brown. His brother plays for Detroit’s upcoming opponent, the Green Bay Packers, but he was on the team’s Practice Squad at the time. So about that wager...
“Not yet. I’ma have to call him this week and do something,” Amon-Ra said.
Well, stakes may be a little higher on Monday night than before. Because the Packers announced Monday afternoon that Equanimeous is no longer on the practice squad, he has been promoted to the active roster, opening up the opportunity for the two brothers to face off against each other for the first time ever.
“It’s going to be fun,” Amon-Ra said on Wednesday. “I’ve never played against my brother in anything, because, you know, when you’re younger and you’re three years older, that age difference it’s a lot when you’re younger. Being in our 20s now, we’re finally all evened out, and it’s going to be fun to finally play against him, see him on the other sideline, and talk to him after the game or even before the game, too.”
Even though Equanimeous has been with the Packers for three years, this will be Amon-Ra’s first trip to Lambeau ever. He planned to go watch a game in Green Bay last year, but COVID-19 protocols kept him away from the stadium. Now, his first trip to the historic stadium will be an extra special one.
“It’s going to be awesome. Being a kid you watch games there. Monday Night Football. You dream of playing in that game. Finally being here, being able to play in that stadium on Monday night, it’s going to be exciting.”
