Open thread: What Super Bowl matchup are you rooting for?

What is your dream matchup for the 2019 Super Bowl?

This is it. The last NFL Sunday before the 2018/19 Super Bowl. Conference Championship Weekend produces some of the greatest games in NFL history, and this Sunday may not be any different. The top two seeds in each conference remain, and all four teams were considered contenders for the Super Bowl from the beginning of the season on. It feels like the right four teams are contending on Championship Weekend.

But what results would produce the most entertaining Super Bowl? Which teams do you want to see face off in two weeks? That’s today’s Question of the Day:

What 2019 Super Bowl matchup are you rooting for?

My answer: I absolutely, positively want a rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams.

Not only would that be an opportunity to match easily the most entertaining game of the season—a 54-51 shootout back in mid-November—but it would also bring together the two teams that currently have the longest Super Bowl drought of the four remaining teams. The Patriots and Saints have had their modern NFL Championship. Time for some new blood in the game.

It would also feel symbolic. Tom Brady and Drew Brees—two quarterbacks over 40 now—passing the torch to the new era of NFL passers—23-year-old Patrick Mahomes and 24-year-old Jared Goff. I’m all for Rams-Chiefs. How about you?
